  • Essay Questions - You choose, but no materials may be brought to the test:
    • As president was Andrew Jackson a true champion of democracy or a man willing to abuse his power to pursue his political goals? Be sure to explain at least four major events during his presidency in making your point.
    • Analyze the impact of the transportation revolution on the American economy between 1790 and 1860. Be sure to include at least three major effects
    • Analyze several factors that led to the Industrial Revolution in America during the first half of the nineteenth century. Be sure to include at least three major causes.
    • To what extent did Thomas Jefferson remain true to his Republican ideals as president? In response be sure to explain at least four of Jefferson’s major policies or decisions in detail.
